Training and Development

From the premise that parents and family carers are the ‘experts’ due to their lived experiences, the aim of OxFSN’s training and development programmes are fourfold:

To offer training to participants so that they may become competent in bringing about change within their own lives.

To offer training to participants in best practice over a wide range of issues and to help them acquire the skills necessary to change systems and to become active partners with those who make policy.

To bring a balance of ‘family voices’ into local partnership working.

To build capacity to promote the independence, choice, inclusion and rights of people with learning disabilities and their family carers.
